London, ON (January, 2012) Diagnostics Biochem Canada Inc., has been named the recipient of London’s featured company award for the month of January by the City of London and the London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC).
Founded in 1973 by Dr. G. Dumont in London, ON, Diagnostics Biochem Canada (DBC) is a manufacturer of in vitro diagnostic test kits. More specifically, DBC is the manufacturer of Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISAs) that are able to quantify the level of specific molecules in human blood samples.
DBC is located in South London and began with only a few staff. It has grown over the past three years to approximately double its workforce to 19 employees with plans to hire more qualified individuals and move to a larger facility to meet the growing demand for its products.
“It brings me great joy to receive recognition from the London Economic Development Corporation,” remarked Manon Hogue, DBC chief executive officer.“Diagnostics Biochem Canada is a wonderful company that I took ownership of in 2008. Both my team of employees and I have worked hard over the past three years to expand and grow the business. This award will help DBC gain local and national recognition which will allow us to grow and expand in the Canadian life science market.”
“Diagnostics Biochem Canada places London’s life sciences sector on the global map,” states Peter White, President and CEO of the LEDC. “DBC’s presence and continued growth in London supports our effort to foster this flourishing industry.”
