**PechaKucha** is a presentation format that originated in Tokyo, Japan, in 2003, created by architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham. It's designed to keep presentations concise and fast-paced. **The name comes from a Japanese term that mimics the sound of conversation or chit-chat.**

In a PechaKucha presentation, the presenter shows **20 slides, each for exactly 20 seconds**. The slides advance automatically, giving the speaker a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds to talk. **This format encourages presenters to get straight to the point and keeps the audience engaged.**

**PechaKucha nights are informal and fun gatherings** where people share their ideas and passions in this quick-fire format.
