(London, Ontario) Fanshawe College is pleased to announce the appointment of Darlene O’Neill to the position of Manager, Career, Co-operative Education & Community Employment Services. Darlene will assume her new position on Monday, September 3. Darlene came to Fanshawe College from Nova Scotia Community College in August 2011. She is currently Assistant Manager of Career, Co-operative Education & Community Employment Services. Darlene was Senior Human Resource Business Manager for the Department of National Defence in Halifax prior to her career at Nova Scotia Community College. Darlene has a Master of Education (Adult Education), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), certificate in Career Development and extensive experience in adult education. She is a member of the Executive Steering Committee of the Employment Sector Council London-Middlesex, a network of more than 45 organizations providing opportunities for people to meet the changing labour market needs in London and Middlesex County. Darlene was recipient of the National Managers’ Community Leadership Award for leading change within the Federal Government, the Department of National Defence Human Resources Leadership Award for dedication to human resource management at Maritime Forces Atlantic, and the Human Resource Council of Canada Michelle C. Comeau Award for leadership and excellence in human resources management in the Federal public service. Darlene looks forward to working with employers and partners to meet labour force and economic development needs in our communities through the employment of Fanshawe College alumni, co-op students and Community Employment Services clients.
