“We want people of all ages to join us in Victoria Park for a celebration of life and community. Sunfest’s mandate is to be as inclusive and accessible as possible; that is why festival admission remains completely free,” says Co-artistic Director Mercedes Caxaj.

“We’re thrilled to present our biggest lineup ever: 42 eclectic bands, 22 of which are major international headliners arriving from such distant places as Latin America, the African Diaspora, Canary Islands, Finland, Ukraine, South Korea and Italy. Many are superstars in their own countries, happy to make new fans abroad. It’s incredible that so many performers cannot wait to come to Canada – and so many local music lovers are pumped to discover what is outside our country,” beams Caxaj. “Each band plays at least twice; so, people can discover, rediscover and not miss anything, while artists get to discover our audiences.”

Canadian talent will also be front and centre on TD Sunfest’s five stages, showcasing Samba Squad, Eagle Flight Singers, The McDades, The Soul Motivators, Lara Wong Trio and more. The lineup is a fascinating window into the nation’s mosaic of musical traditions and emerging trends.

After hosting TD Sunfest virtually the past two summers during COVID-19, “we’d like to make our return to Victoria Park truly memorable, “vows Caxaj.

According to a 2019 economic impact study conducted in conjunction with Tourism London, TD Sunfest attracted in excess of 110,000 unique visitors during its four days, with over half returning more than once.

“Rather than spending hundreds of dollars on event tickets, our guests are spending their money in London on food, drink and accommodations,” explains Caxaj.

She adds, “people who grew up with TD Sunfest as a beloved free-admission summer event are now bringing their kids, extended family and friends. Our music is for everyone.”

TD Sunfest is the perfect staycation for London residents eager to explore other cultures while enjoying a safe, extended weekend in their own backyard.

“We encourage everyone to come out, support live music again, and have fun in the sun.”
