London #sockgame expands brand to new markets and grows team
London ON, January 28: Cole and Parker, a London startup company producing bright, bold and premium quality socks, embraces 2014 with four new full-time staff members (Business Development and Administration) and product expansion into the United States retail market. Cole and Parker launched operations in March 2013 and have since landed wholesale agreements with over 50 retail locations across North America. Through their partnership with Kiva, an online lending platform, the socially focused fashion brand has now distributed over 100 loans to entrepreneurs globally.
“We wanted to create a great product with a strong social impact,” says Diana Charabin, Co-Founder of Cole and Parker. “The story of how our socks start businesses has really resonated with our customer and enabled our brand to expand to new markets within months”. The team introduced the brand to the public with an indiegogo campaign, an international crowdfunding website, and pre-sold $42,000 of product in 30 days.
Cole and Parker ‘sock game’ has received worldwide attention: features in Forbes, Fortune magazine, Men’s Fitness, and a taping with CBC’s Dragons’ Den which is scheduled to air March 2014. Their Socktober challenge, encouraging Londoners to give back during the month of October, landed the brand a mention from Kid President, a viral YouTube channel with almost 100,000 subscribers.
With their first retail location in the United States secured, the team has implemented an ambitious strategy and plans to land 800 new accounts in 2014. Co-Founders, Jeff House and Diana Charabin, hope to grow the team in London quickly and encourage Londoners to follow the story of how their socks start businesses.
