City of London launches ‘Through the Decades’ outdoor movie night series

The City of London is excited to announce the launch of ‘Through the Decades’, a series of free outdoor movie nights showcasing family-favourite movies from the 1980s all the way up to the 2020s.

Taking place weekly from August 13 to September 17, each movie night will start at dusk in the locations listed below.

“We are so excited to bring outdoor movie nights back for Londoners to reconnect with old friends and neighbours,” says Karen Oldham, manager of neighbourhood development and support. “Through the Decades will be a celebration of cinema and community under the stars. Whether it’s a classic or a more recent favourite, the series will have something for everyone.”

Londoners wishing to attend an outdoor movie night will be required to register online to reserve their spot, as each movie night has a capacity limit of 300 people. Registration will open at 8 a.m. the day of each outdoor movie night at london.ca/outdoormovie.

COVID-19 practices and protocols will be in place at each outdoor movie night. Masks or face coverings are required when guests are not seated.

Guests are encouraged to bring snacks, drinks, chairs and blankets to complement this great film experience.

In the event of rain, thunderstorms or high wind, the outdoor movie night will be cancelled. Registrants will be sent an email informing them of the cancellation ahead of the movie night. The City will also post the cancellation on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
