Fanshawe College’s entrepreneurship centre, Leap Junction, is hosting its annual LeapIn Demo Day on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

LeapIN Business Accelerator provides a supportive, hands-on environment for entrepreneurs to take their business to the next level. Participants engage in workshops and connect with industry experts as they work to launch their own businesses. They can also access funding as they complete identified milestones.

One of this year’s participants is Brittany McCorriston, founder of Reed Supplies Canada, an online store that sells reed-making supplies for bassoon and oboe players. McCorriston is trained in classical and contemporary music techniques and graduated from Fanshawe’s Audio Post-Production program in 2021. Reed Supplies Canada was founded to increase tools and supplies for double reed players in Canada. They have recently formed a partnership with the woodwind program at University of Toronto.

"I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of LeapIn,” says McCorriston. “I learned so much through the various teachings, all of the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and really helped me to apply what we were learning to our individual situation. The wide variety of guest lecturers provided a wealth of personal experiences and opportunities for community connections. LeapIn truly gave me the knowledge and confidence to pursue my dreams and turn them into a reality."

LeapIn Demo Day celebrates the completion of the 2021 program and provides an opportunity for participants to showcase their success.
