Students in Fanshawe’s Music Industry Arts (MIA) program are busy preparing for the 10th annual Share the Land charity concert, a virtual event featuring a diverse lineup of 27 performances from current students and alumni, scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from this year’s event will support local artists and venues through Revive Live, a community collective formed to bridge the live music sector to the other side of the pandemic.

“Support for the local music scene is really needed as so many artists, venues and production crews in our city have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Dan Brodbeck, coordinator of Fanshawe’s Music Industry Arts program. “I’m really proud of how the students have worked together during this challenging time to put on what promises to be a great show and support their industry.”

Share the Land is a student-run concert that started in 2012 to honour the legacy of the late Jack Richardson, an icon in the Canadian music industry and former professor at the College. While second-year MIA students organize the show, they are supported by students from Audio Post Production, Broadcasting – Television and Film Production and Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media.

Those interested in live streaming the show can purchase tickets for $10 through Ticket Window. Merchandise is also available, including Share the Land-branded facemasks. Donations are welcome.
