A block of Dundas Place in downtown London will be closed to traffic on weekends during the holiday season to make way for the Festival of Markets.

Featuring artists and musicians, the market will run every weekend from Nov. 25 to Dec. 19, with an additional last-minute event on Dec. 23.

“We look forward to welcoming shoppers and providing them with a best-in-class experience,” Downtown London’s executive director Barbara Maly said.

Dundas Place between Ridout and Talbot streets will be closed to vehicles during the festival.

The festival will feature art installations, projections, live music, as well as Indigenous, African, vintage, pop art and retro vendors who will sell their wares from 12 shipping containers.

Each of the four weekends has a different theme. The markets will operate on Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Other downtown events include free hot beverage crawl, a holiday-themed scavenger hunt, skate parties, a holiday window walk, roaming carollers and a window display contest.
