Price said in phone call it’s a “huge honour” and a big surprise.

“This is such a huge honour, I’m still processing everything,” said Price, who has released two albums, In This Dream (2010) and Chad Price (2017. He was also a finalist on CTV’s reality television show The Launch in 2017.

“I was really happy to just be in the Top 10. I haven’t won a lot of things in my life, so this is a really nice surprise. Winning Searchlight will most definitely be an immediate shot in the arm to the career I’ve built over the last decade, but what I’m most excited about is suddenly having access to invaluable resources that will allow me to add new tools to the tool-belt and continue making impactful art for the next 10 years and hopefully beyond.”
