“The London International Airport and Air Transat have had a strong partnership for many years and we are thrilled to see Air Transat extend their winter season in London for the first time.” Scott McFadzean, the airport’s chief executive, said in a statement.

“With flights now starting in early November and extending through the end of April, there is more capacity available to support the growing demand for this great service.”

The weekly flight to Cancun will begin Nov. 5 and become twice weekly Dec. 21 to Apr 27. As for Punta Cana, its weekly flights begin the same day and go twice weekly Dec. 22 to April 28.

“These highly sought-after sun destinations have always been popular among travellers from London, and we are thrilled to extend our winter season to meet the growing demand,” Michèle Barre, Air Transat’s chief revenue officer, said in a statement.
