Path2Approval – new Planning & Economic Development customer service counter now open

Today, the City of London officially opened and unveiled the name of a new planning, building and licensing customer service counter, Path2Approval, located on the second floor of City Hall.

The City is pleased to announce the opening of the Path2Approval counter, where staff will provide in-person support for residents, businesses, and industry partners with their planning, building and licensing applications and inquiries. The counter will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointments are required to meet or speak with staff.

“One of our key priorities is to increase London’s housing supply and support businesses to thrive in London,” said Mayor Josh Morgan. “We are committed to working with the development community and other partners to identify ways to optimize and streamline our approval processes. It’s going to take ongoing collaboration and a community-wide approach to achieve these goals together.”

“The changes to the new space are an exciting first step in our enhanced customer service experience improvement roll out,” said Scott Mathers, Deputy City Manager of Planning and Economic Services. “Now customers can access multiple services from a single counter at City Hall. The goal is to offer in-person assistance to help people with any questions they may have during the application process.”

The new Path2Approval counter:

  • Larger space to assist more customers and provide functionality and comfort for staff and customers.
  • On duty plans examiner that can assist with general permit application processing and building inspection inquiries.
  • Space to facilitate both in-person inquiries as well as phone calls or virtual meetings.

Applications will continue to be submitted online. The service counter will offer assistance and support to applicants throughout the process.
