About the speakers:
Nicole Baranowski is the Founder of Hairstrong, a brand aimed to empower women to move on their own terms. She values her time and products that help her maximize it, which is why she designed the Strongband, an adjustable scrunchie that offers a reliable, customized fit, to many different hair types and hairstyles. She balances business ownership with being a business advisor at Morrissette Entrepreneurship and coach at the London gym MVMT Strength. Nicole graduated from her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Western in 2019 and then went on to complete a Master of Science in International Business at Ivey Business School. She loves fitness as she still prioritizes her days by starting at the gym and goes on long bike rides with friends with her longest ride being 144 km.
Erika Oakes is the CEO & Co-Founder at Os & Oakes started her career as a secondary teacher in Northern Ontario and after 5 years, relocating back to her hometown of London where she was employed by Fanshawe College's LEAP Junction Entrepreneurial Services. There she helped students aspiring to be entrepreneurs and, in the process, learned a lot about herself. In 2016, she felt inspired to start her own business, so she partnered up with her brother Michael Lipari and together they began an online children's clothing brand and e-commerce website called Os & Oakes. In March of 2019, they opened their first brick & mortar retail location in London's Old East Village. Over the last 6 years, her e-commerce store and retail store have both maintained steady growth and become a staple in London’s OEV.
Vino Jeyapalan, is the CEO and Founder of Kabo. A graduate of Western University with a degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Vino has an extensive and varying career path including time in banking and business development. In 2013, Vino switched it up and became the Client Solutions Manager of eCommerce at Facebook, where he was later promoted to Performance Agency Partner of Direct Response. During his time at Facebook, Vino won many awards for his work including Marketing Magazines 30 under 30, and Facebook’s “Customer at the Core” award. In 2017, he left Facebook, founded and was acting CEO of 753 Group and then moved to Head of Growth at More Labs. In late 2019, Vino and a team of founders, created Kabo, an e-commerce company that brings human grade dog food to dog owners. Kabo takes a personalized approach to buying dog food, putting together unique wholesome meals for your pet. Kabo has now served almost 2M meals to dog parents across Canada! The company is now focusing on more therapeutic meals to help dogs with specific issues like Canada's 1st Human-Grade Fresh Cooked Hypoallergenic Salmon Recipe that vets can recommend. Currently, Vino is an Advisory Committee Member Bachelor of Digital Communications, Humber College.
