KPMG will complete an overview of the landscape of government funding and business incentives within Canada. Starting from the basics of what is required if you are considering an application for government funds to discussing the nuances of Canada's more established programs such as SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development). KPMG plans to discuss many of the considerations when exploring government programs for your business.
Presenting on behalf of KPMG will be Andrew McDowall and Trish Goodridge who are two of their technical managers specializing in tax incentives and direct funding programs.
About the presenters:
Andrew McDowall:
Andrew is a Professional Engineer and is a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice Over his tenure of 13 years with the firm Andrew has worked with companies of all sizes to understand and acquire government funding. Andrew has worked with many of the tax credit programs and leveraging a unique science / technology perspective helps companies understand a lot of the innovation or productivity requirements found to be associated with many funding programs. Andrew started his career in Automotive Research and Development and has worked with a wide array of companies from start-ups to multi-nationals in a variety of industries.
Trish Goodridge:
Trish is a Professional Engineer and a Manager in KPMG’s Tax Incentives Practice. Trish has over 6 years’ experience helping companies across a wide range of industries identify their projects, innovations and improvements that qualify for government funding and tax incentives. She leverages over 20 years of industry experience in automotive, defense and composites to guide companies in accessing funding and tax incentives to grow their business and fund further development.
