Ontario Cleantech & Energy Export Business Mission to Elecrama 2025

Dates

The Government of Ontario is organizing a Cleantech & Energy Export Business Mission to Elecrama in India, with an optional business outreach program to Bangladesh.

India’s demand for energy is predicted to surpass that of many other markets in the coming decades. The country’s rising electricity adoption is associated with increasing household wealth, infrastructure development, and the demand for air conditioning as heat waves intensify. The government’s bid to transform itself into a manufacturing powerhouse will exert even more pressure on the electricity grid in the future. India aims to meet 50% of its electricity requirements from renewable energy sources by 2030, more than double the current 22%, in order to curb the negative effect of climate change. India's plan to invest C$5.7 billion in energy security and green transition strategies to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070 will present opportunities for Ontario solution providers.

In the same region, Bangladesh has been one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia with an average annual GDP growth rate of about 6% in the last decade. Rising economic activity fueled by the country’s ready-made garment industry has increased the demand for energy, especially electricity, and spurred a desire to rely on more renewable sources instead of imported fuel. The Bangladesh government expects to graduate to high-income nation status by 2041 and produce 100% of electricity from renewables by 2050.

Ontario mission participants will exhibit at Elecrama, an international exhibition and conference with a strong focus on electric vehicles, IoT, storage solutions, renewable energy, and innovation for future energy transition. The trade show is supported by the Indian government. The 2023 iteration saw 1,000+ exhibitors and visitors from 60+ countries.

The mission package will include:

• 1:1 export advice and consultation

  • Pre-mission briefing offering sector/market updates and logistical information related to the mission
  • Exhibiting space in the Ontario booth at Elecrama
  • Customized B2B program and site visits to connect Ontario companies with potential customers and partners
  • Travel to Greater Noida/National Capital Region in India and potentially Dhaka, Bangladesh for a business outreach program
  • Marketing and promotional support through trade show and Ontario delegates’ directories
  • Networking opportunities and potential conference speaking slots

The mission registration fee is to be confirmed. In addition, participating Ontario companies must cover the cost of their flights, accommodation, some local transportation and meals. Delegates may wish to explore the federal government's CanExport funding program to support their international business activities.

Mission application deadline: December 23, 2024
