Join us at 11:30 AM for In Conversation: Anique Asher and Gillian Riley on Leadership and the Future of Banking, an engaging discussion with two of Canada’s most accomplished banking leaders as they explore the evolving financial landscape, innovation, and inclusive growth. This discussion will be moderated by Dr. Kate Graham.
Gillian Riley brings more than 30 years of experience at Scotiabank, most recently serving as President and CEO of Tangerine Bank from 2018 to 2024, and is the founder of the Scotiabank Women’s Initiative, supporting women entrepreneurs. She currently serves as Chair of the Roynat Capital board, sits on the board of the Nationwide Building Society in the UK, and maintains close ties to Huron University, where she serves on the Board of Governors.
Anique Asher, appointed Executive Vice President, Real Estate Secured Lending at Scotiabank in December 2025, leads the Bank’s Canadian mortgage business and brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience across finance, strategy, and operations, having previously served as Chief Strategy and Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Finance and Strategy. Together, they will share insights on leading through transformation, advancing gender equity, driving sustainable growth, and shaping the future of banking in Canada.
The event concludes with a reception in the Medline Student Commons from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
