This will be an afternoon of information, resources, and connection designed to help newcomers and their families thrive in their new communities.
Setting Immigrants Up for Success brings together newcomers, families, community organizations, and local service providers for an afternoon focused on practical information, helpful resources, and meaningful connections.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from knowledgeable speakers, discover community resources, ask questions, and connect with organizations that can help them take their next steps with confidence.
What to Expect:
- Explore Housing Resources and Support
Learn about housing options, resources, and community supports available to newcomers. Hear from local experts and gain practical information to help you navigate the housing journey and find a place to call home. - Learn About Education Support for Newcomer Students and Families
Discover resources and strategies to help newcomer children and youth adjust, learn, and thrive in their new school communities. The session will also highlight ways families can access educational supports and build strong connections with schools and community services.
This event is specifically designed for staff, volunteers, and leaders from settlement service agencies and local faith groups who work directly or indirectly with immigrants and newcomers.
