Our fourth speaker event in our upcoming 2023-2024 speaker series is a special Seasonal event. It will be on December 14, 2023.

We will be holding our 2nd Annual Holiday Market, as well as welcoming Rick Kish and Friends to play “A Little Bit of Crooner Christmas” for us.

Rick Kish has been nominated and the top contender for Jazz Vocalist of the Year, not only for 2019 through 2021, but also for 2022 and 2023. He and his group will be performing “A Little Bit of Crooner Christmas” – songs that we will all enjoy.

For this performance, Rick is going to share some stories and sing some of his favourite Crooner Classics and Christmas Songs… Rick’s friends are… Nevin Campbell – Piano, Larry Ernewein – Bass, and Sandy MacKay ++ Drums… plus a special guest will be joining them!

Rick has been working as an independent music and theatre professional for many years. He holds a BFA from the University of Windsor’s School of Dramatic Art, a Master’s degree from UWO’s, Don Wright Faculty of Music and his B. Ed from UWO.

In 2019, 2020 and 2021 Rick was nominated Jazz Vocalist through the Forest City London Music Awards (FCLMA). In 2019 he took home the award. He has worked as an artistic director, producer, director, actor, singer, voice teacher/coach, acting teacher/coach and workshop leader.

Rick performs locally in a variety of venues. He held a monthly spot at Michael’s on the Thames restaurant, Jazz on the Thames dinner cruises for four years.

Rick served as Artistic Director at Port Stanley Festival Theatre and The Bluewater Summer Playhouse. He is currently the Artistic Director of LINK theatre and concerts.

A point for pride is his CROONER Series. The productions have become very popular touring the province of Ontario. Some places the Crooners visited are, Port Stanley Festival Theatre, Huron Country Playhouse, Drayton Festival Theatre, Blyth Festival Theatre and Meaford Performing Arts.

And what better way to get into the holiday spirit with seasonal music, and either start – or finish your Christmas shopping without the rush, with beautifully crafted items from local artisans. Our 2nd Annual Holiday Market will be open for attendees before our main musical event and a bit after the concert.
