The Canadian Fermented Foods Initiative (CFFI) is hosting a World Ferment Day event on February 1st!

Who’s welcome? Everyone! From fermentation experts and enthusiasts to the simply curious and the health-conscious—this event is for you.
What’s happening at the event?
- Dr. Jeremy Burton and Dr. Carla Liria (Lawson Research Institute/ Western University) will share what CFFI has been working on and what the science says about the health benefits of fermented foods.
- Chef Connor Flynn (The Preserving Chef) will introduce the basics of fermentation, demonstrate how to make sauerkraut, and answer questions from the audience.
- Local London-based entrepreneurs and small business owners will showcase their fermented food products, explain how they’re made locally, and what makes them unique.
After the talks
Enjoy time to explore vendor booths, sample fermented foods, purchase products, and support local businesses.
Bonus: Attendees will also have the chance to enter a raffle to win a basket filled with fermented food products and a fermentation kit!
