Call for Nominations: London Chamber of Commerce 2021 London Business Achievement Awards

About the Business Achievement Awards

The London Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing and celebrating high achievement in London's business community since 1984.

Often called the "Academy Awards" of business achievement in London, the Chamber's annual Business Achievement Awards gala showcases and celebrates some of the outstanding businesses in London. Our Annual Business Achievement Awards is the largest business awards gala of its kind in Canada. To be a finalist for an award is in itself a great accomplishment.

The London Business Achievement Awards recognizes business excellence in a number of categories including Agribusiness, Business of the Year (Small, Medium & Large Company), Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Leadership, Excellence in Human Resources, Innovation and the Manufacturers Award

THE NOMINATION PROCESS

Nominate your company or a business you know that is excelling and meets the criteria for an award. A business can be nominated for multiple awards, but can only compete in one category. Previous winners can be nominated in another category or in the same category after ten years. Sponsoring firms are not eligible for nomination.

A Special note to Manufacturers:

On behalf of Jason Bates of the London Region Manufacturer’s Council and myself, Vijai Lakshmikanthan, President of the Board of the London Chamber of Commerce, we invite you to nominate a London Manufacturer that you feel is worthy of the Chamber’s newest Business Achievement Award.

The London Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing local companies in a number of categories including Agri-business, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Leadership, Excellence in Human Resources, Innovation and of course the Business of the Year in the Small, Medium and Large categories since the inception of the Awards back in 1984.

And, as you may know, the Chamber’s annual Business Achievement Awards gala (BAAs) is the largest event of its kind in Canada and will be celebrated on September 22nd 2021.

This year the Chamber will recognize and honour for the first time ever, London’s Manufacturer of the Year and we are asking for your help to properly launch this prestigious tribute.

We don’t have to tell you that the manufacturing sector has been the backbone of commerce in London for the past 125 years. Alive and well in our city, manufacturing today accounts for over 20% of London’s labour force and is a significant contributor to our local and regional GDP. With investment, growth, and productivity souring, the Chamber looks to celebrate the manufacturing sector as a consistent driver of the local economy.

The deadline for nominations is June 3, 2021. So, we ask you to nominate those manufacturers that you feel are worthy to stand as champions of our business community. Please challenge your colleagues to do the same. Remember, neither the nominee or nominator need be a Chamber member. Our challenge to you is simple. Let’s ensure we have at least 50 nominees to get the ball rolling.

With Thanks and Gratitude
