LONDON, Ont.— With growing concerns around food affordability, sustainability and access, community leaders across Middlesex-London are coming together next week to find solutions. The Middlesex-London Food Policy Council (MLFPC) is hosting the Cultivating Resilient Food Systems Summit on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at The Grove at Western Fair District in London, Ontario.
The summit brings together farmers, educators, policymakers, researchers and community advocates to discuss how to strengthen the local food system and build a more resilient, equitable and connected future. Through panels, workshops and shared learning, participants will explore how collaboration can lead to real, lasting change in the way food is grown, distributed and accessed in the region.
“The Food Summit is an opportunity for us to come together and discuss how we can make change in our local food system,” said Keisha Joseph, chair of the Middlesex-London Food Policy Council and food program coordinator at Indwell. “How we can lead ourselves, our teams, and our communities into an era of sustainability, food sovereignty and food security for all.”
Why This Matters
Food insecurity and supply challenges continue to affect families, farmers and businesses across Ontario. This solutions-focused summit highlights how local collaboration can spark innovation and hope in addressing those challenges. Attendees represent a wide range of voices across the food system, including registered dietitians, entrepreneurs, farmers, researchers, Indigenous leaders and policymakers, all working together to shape a more resilient regional food network.
Media Opportunities
Local media outlets are invited to attend the Cultivating Resilient Food Systems Summit to speak with participants and organizers driving change at the local level.
