FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LONDON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

AUGUST  7, 2015

LONDON – The London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) in partnership with the Small Business Centre (SBC) will launch multi-phase food and beverage programming to support entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector.

London has a rich history in food and beverage success, and is increasingly being recognized as one of North America’s prominent hubs for food and beverage with many global companies establishing manufacturing facilities in London.

This collaboration between the city’s economic development partners and the private sector builds on the recently announced 14,000 square foot food incubator located at 630 Dundas Street in the Old East Village.  Programing will roll out in the fall of 2015, featuring a series of workshops and seminars targeted towards entrepreneurs looking to start their own food and beverage business.  These workshops will provide expertise to help understand the unique challenges of starting a food business, including regulatory requirements, branding, engineering and technology.

To provide mentorship, financing, networking and growth opportunities, a database of experts and organizations will be created.  The database will guide understanding on the collective capacity, resources, success and learnings.
