First 10,000-Watt Micro-FIT Solar System installed in London, Ontario.

London, ON: London-based company IndelWorks Solar has recently installed a solar system at 811 Lorne Ave, in London, to run in parallel to London's regular electricity system.

IndelWorks is a key player in contributing to the recent renewable energy movement. The company set up a 10,000-watt Micro-FIT solar system to run alongside London Hydro's grid on April 1, 2010. The solar energy generated will be able to produce income for 20 years, at an approximately 15% return per year. "What this means is that the owner is an electricity generator for a contract term of 20 years," says Kon Bouttarath, president of IndelWorks. "It's a guaranteed way to make revenue from the Ontario Power Authority. We're using the latest technology, so owners will get the most return for their money."

"An average household in London consumes 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity which is contributes to about 232 kg of CO2 emission in Ontario. By installing Micro-Fit Solar systems, Londoners can make a significant contribution towards the reduction in CO2 emission in Ontario. The example of the 10,000-watt system installed by IndelWorks Solar can help offset about 2,320 kg of CO2 - that is a significant contribution. I would like to see every available London roof converted for solar generation; the City of London can be and should be a leader " says Vinay Sharma, President and CEO of London Hydro.

IndelWorks, a small, 3-person Company in London, was first created as an industrial maintenance and repair company before making the shift to solar energy. IndelWorks offers 30 years of combined electronic/electrical /mechanical experience, and designs, installs and services complete solar and industrial automation systems.

The systems that are connected to the grid are compact, and can harvest approx. 25% more energy than traditional systems. It will pay back its cost in five to six years, with the energy being sold to London Hydro for 80.2 cents per kilowatt hour.
