Fog disinfecting becoming the norm for local homebuilder

LONDON, ON — COVID-19 has changed the way many relatively normal events now occur in everyday life. Shopping for groceries, getting gas and purchasing a new home have all had to pivot seemingly overnight to protect not only customers, but also the selfless employees who keep businesses open. As COVID-19 cases rise in Southwestern Ontario, the need to keep spaces disinfected and safe has become ever more prevalent. Duncan Harwood Custom Homes, a part of the Kevlar Development Group in Dorchester has taken this with strides and introduced disinfectant fogging from London based GoFogIt for all of their current homes, open houses and closings for the foreseeable future. Disinfectant fogging kills 99.99% of viruses, germs, and bacteria while covering more surfaces for a better sanitization. Additionally, it offers a non-toxic method of disinfecting spaces in a safe manner for kids and pets. Kevlar Development Group will use the benefits of fogging on active development sites between trades, and also offer it to our tenants as an extra step of protection within their businesses during the pandemic. Additionally, they will increase internal precautions to keep staff safe by fogging our shop, company trucks and equipment.

“Our goal is to keep businesses open and to make it easier for people to know how to do that in a safe, efficient and effective way. For a developer like Kevlar to disinfect manually between every open house, it would take them hours, this way the house can be ready for the next showing in only an hour, and know they are keeping people safe at the same time; explains Melissa Maloney, vice president of operations at GoFogIt. The company was started in March of 2020 to help local businesses disinfect spaces through environmentally friendly techniques and effective solutions and has since grown outside of southwestern Ontario to serve all of Canada and now the United States as well. “When we compare common cleaning products that have a reputation to be effective, they are often harsh and even harmful to not only surfaces, but the people using them. We’ve become obsessed with offering an environmentally friendly alternative which has the added benefit of being safer and healthier for the front line workers that continue to keep these businesses open.”

Kevlar Developments, a new and growing builder in the Dorchester area has started using this method to keep not only their customers safe, but also their staff and contractors. “Covid 19 has impacted all of us. If we all take small steps to protect one another, we can try to flatten the curve and bring some normalcy back to our lives. Implementing sanitizing methods into our daily routines will quickly create better habits and part of how we will do business moving forward.” This is just one example of how local businesses are going the extra mile to ensure that people are safe even during these uncertain and often stressful times.
