The films must have a connection — production, acting or filming locations — to Southwestern Ontario.

“The creativity of the past two years is going to shine very brightly at the film festival this year,” Dorothy Downs, festival founder and executive director, said in a release.

The seven categories for competition are feature narratives, short narratives, feature documentaries, short documentaries, music video, animation and screenplay.

The best film from each category will be awarded a prize at the end of the festival.

Each film in competition will be eligible for the Old Oak Audience Choice Award.
