Inaugural Packaging Integrator of the Year Award Goes to JMP Engineering

LONDON, ON, November 14, 2008 Packaging Digest Magazine has honored JMP with their inaugural Packaging Integrator of the Year award – an award given to the systems integration firm who has been providing outstanding packaging solutions for manufacturers to increase throughput, quality and profitability. The selection process was headed by Packaging Digest’s Consulting Editor Vance VanDoren and the award was presented on October 28, 2008 to JMP President and CEO, Scott Shawyer. “Packagers increasingly are turning to automation to stay competitive and are relying on system integrators to assist in the selection, testing, installation and start-up of their packaging lines,” says Packaging Digest Editorial Director John Kalkowski. “System integrators play a key role in developing equipment systems from multiple vendors. It’s a matter of getting these machines to work together and talk to each other to achieve optimal levels of productivity that justify the costs of automating.” Paul Wilson, JMP’s VP of Sales and Marketing adds, “JMP’s strength in integrating Automation and Controls enables us to design agile packaging solutions for challenges that conventional products often can’t solve.” The award announcement came on the opening day of the International Pack Expo in Chicago where JMP, with partner Motoman, was showcasing one of their automated Agile Packaging Solutions. “We are truly honored to be receiving this award,” shares Ken McLaughlin, Director of Automation for JMP. “It supports the work we have been doing for manufacturers who need low risk, low cost packaging solutions to remain competitive and meet changing market needs.” A full profile of JMP Engineering and the award will be featured in the December 2008 edition of Packaging Digest Magazine.
