For Immediate ReleaseJanuary 28, 2013 Orlando, Fla. – Kadie Ward, Director of Marketing and Communication with the LEDC has been awarded “40 Under 40” in economic development.  The first of its kind, the awards program recognizes emerging talent in the economic development profession.

Winners were selected from a pool of more than 150 candidates based on their exceptional contributions to the economic development industry. The award’s program was managed by Development Counsellors International (DCI), a New York-based firm that specializes in economic development marketing. DCI officially announced the winners last night at an award reception during the International Economic Development Council Leadership Summit in Orlando, and will feature an in-depth profile of each on its website throughout 2013.

“Ward brings a creative and unconventional approach to our FDI and economic development efforts,” states Peter White, President and CEO of the LEDC. “We are proud to see her work recognized in this way.”

Kadie Ward joined the LEDC in 2009 as a Director of Business Growth and Retention.  With a background in communications, she was promoted to Director of Marketing and Communication in 2010, and has created and delivered several award-winning FDI campaigns for the organization in several markets around the globe.

“The people chosen by the selection committee represent a bright future for the economic development world,” said Andy Levine, president of DCI. “They are a new breed of results-driven, place makers.  We’re very pleased to see Kadie Ward among the winners.”
