Local Jobless Rate Remains Unchanged in October at 7.9%

After falling for five straight months, London's unemployment rate was unchanged last month.

Stats Canada released the updated figures Friday morning, with the local jobless rate remaining at 7.9% in October.

That means London's unemployment rate will stay at the lowest level it's been at in four years. While some were relieved it fell below 8 per cent in September, others pointed out the drop didn't come because of job creation, but because people simply stopped looking for work.
