London Eco-Roof opens new manufacturing facility in London, Ontario

LONDON, April 8, 2010 - The President of London Eco-Roof, Joe Malec, announced today the opening of their new manufacturing facility in London, Ontario. London EcoRoof has leased a 5,500 sq. ft. facility at 335 Neptune Cres. to house their high quality steel and aluminum roof manufacturing plant. They also utilize an additional 10,000 sq. ft. on site for outdoor storage of their products. They will employ between 10 and 15 people at their plant as well as utilize up to 30 local installers who have been screened and trained for their unique products.

London Eco-Roof manufactures products that have been in the European market for over 20 years with a high quality architectural design for residential, commercial and industrial uses. They import the equipment and raw materials from Norway, France and other Europe markets to manufacture their products, and offer three product lines and accessories to a broad market in Southern and Southwestern Ontario.

Joe Malec sees terrific growth potential for their product in the coming years as homeowners and businesses consider more environmentally friendly options for their roofing needs.London Eco-Roof products are made of steel and aluminum, and offer a life time guarantee on the product, even if the owner of the home or building changes hands. Asphalt shingles are oil- and chemical-based non-recyclable products due to the high cost to recycle. Their roofing products also increase the R-factor on homes, saving approximately 30% in heating and cooling costs.

Peter White, President and CEO of the London Economic Development Corporation is very pleased Joe Malec chose London for his new manufacturing facility. "Manufacturing continues to be a very important industry to London's economy, providing new jobs for innovative products that are serving the Southwestern Ontario market."

London EcoRoof will be fully operational by the end of April.
