London Economic Development Corporation ranks in the Top Ten


Canadian Economic Development Groups and London ranks 4th in the

Top Canadian Metros ranking

London ON - (September 8 2009) Today, Site Selection magazine announced the London Economic Development Corporation ranks in the Top Ten Canadian Economic Development organizations and London ranks 4th as a Top Canadian Metro. This is up from our 8th place ranking for the 2008 results. Site Selection magazine is a leading US-based source for expansion planning information for executives across North America.

The decision criteria were based on the following elements:

  • Number of new facilities & expansions
  • Projects per capita
  • Project capital investment per capita
  • Project job creation per capita
  • 100+ job projects per capita

According to Adam Bruns, Managing Editor of Site Selection Magazine, "Consistency in corporate project attraction, job creation, collaboration, proactive programming and quality data resources distinguishes Site Selection's Top Economic Development Groups of 2009."

"This is significant recognition for London and the entire LEDC team by an organization held in high regard by the North American site selector community," said Peter White, London Economic Development Corporation's President and CEO. "This independent assessment of London's economic growth, measured by job creation, new investments, infrastructure and online resources is another tool for LEDC to raise London's profile internationally. We are very pleased to see our results improve in 2009 from an 8th place ranking last year to 4th place this year."

Site Selection magazine is a top US Magazine that delivers expansion planning information to 44,000 executives of fast-growing firms. It is published by Conway Data Inc., which is an international publishing and association management company headquartered in Atlanta.
