London, Ontario- November 06, 2003- Today London Hydro was named as the winner of the 2003 Best Utility CIS Initiative Award for CIS Excellence (ACE).
The competition is facilitated by the Energy Planning Network (Boston, MA) a consortium of professionals that educate and network with utilities on customer service, customer care, and technological Customer Information Systems (CIS) initiatives, which are shared with the global utilities industry so that others may benefit from their successes. Energy Hart Magazine is the official sponsor of the competition.
The awards recognize utilities for excellence in the areas of marketing, CRM, CIS and customer data integration initiatives.
Entries were received from a number of utilities worldwide including Australia, Africa, Europe, United States, and Canada. Among all of the entries London Hydro was selected as the best overall.
“It’s very rewarding to be recognized for our accomplishments, the competition was stiff, with entries from around the world.” Said CEO Bernie Watts “I am very proud of our employees and our management that maintained their focus through some very difficult times and as a result we have a first rate billing system.”
London Hydro’s billing system ‘CISOntario’ was developed by London Hydro over the past few years to provide a flexible, reliable billing system for customers that met the requirements of the new legislation, as the electricity industry moved to deregulation.
CIS Ontario has become a marketable billing system that is scalable and market ready to benefit others in the Ontario energy industry.
