London Life receives Featured Company Award

London ON – (September 26, 2007) London Life was announced today as the next recipient of the Featured Company Award presented by the London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) and the City of London.

London Life has been around almost as long as the City of London itself. Founded in 1874, London Life offers Canadians financial security advice and planning through its Freedom 55 Financial division. London Life’s security and investment representatives help clients identify their financial security needs and goals, and establish a personal financial security plan to assist them in reaching their goals.

As the City of London has evolved and grown, so too has London Life. Ten years ago, London Life joined Great-West Life, bringing together two industry leaders who were later joined by a third: Canada Life. Together, London Life, Great-West Life and Canada Life now serve the financial security needs of more than 12 million people across Canada.

In addition to being a major part of the London’s economy, London Life is also a positive force in the community. Through the Key to Giving™ – the national corporate citizenship program of Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life – the company contributes to non-profit, charitable and community organizations here in London and across the country to address health and wellness, education, social services, arts and culture and civic initiatives.

“We are honoured to receive the Featured Company Award from the London Economic Development Corporation and the City of London in recognition of our contribution to this city,” said Denis Devos, President and Chief Operating Officer for London Life, Great-West Life and Canada Life. “We remain as committed to this community as we were when we opened our doors more than 130 years ago, and will continue to help London build upon its well-earned reputation as a strong, vibrant and caring community.”

Denis Devos will be on hand to receive a commemorative plaque from Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco-Best at the City council meeting on October 1st at 5:00 p.m.
