New mobile game MAUD released by Canadian game company Magic Walnut

LONDON, ONT., MARCH 2, 2015 – Magic Walnut, a London, Ontario gaming company, is launching its first mobile game MAUD. In the game you are MAUD, a special little creature with the ability to jump really high. You must use her jumping and telekinetic abilities to get as high as you can.

MAUD is a challenging jumping adventure for iOS and Android users, where quick reflexes and smart use of your special abilities are paramount. The game has a single goal: use tapping, swiping, and the accelerometer to jump MAUD as high up the subspace lighthouse as you can. As you bounce upwards you must use MAUD’s telekinesis to move and stabilize platforms. As the lighthouse starts to collapse beneath you, speed and agility are necessary to stay ahead of your doom.

“Maud is like one of my children; she even took about nine months to make,” says developer Andrew Cornies. “I strove to make a game that was not too complex, that was fun, and what’s more fun than jumping… and bunnies?”

“This was my first game and I had to do it myself, on a part-time basis, and I was on a tight timeline. So MAUD has a simple task: to get as high as possible, but she has to go fast and use her powers to do it” says Cornies.

“The music contributes to an overall atmosphere of determination, of which the player is thrust into” says Music Director Joshua Richardson “We have included an additional soundtrack.  Each soundtrack provides for a unique playing experience.”

MAUD is free to play and available for iOS and Android and is made for players of all ages and skill levels. The leaderboards keep track of the players who have jumped the highest and longest. Aim to beat your best score or aim to be the best. Watch videos of other players on Everyplay. MAUD is waiting for you!

About Magic Walnut
Magic Walnut began in July 2014 when Andrew Cornies started life as a stay at home dad. Apart from his dad duties he worked on the prototype of MAUD (a character and game he named after the baby with whom he spent most his time). Andrew asked Joshua Richardson, his long time friend, if he would compose music for the game. They formed Magic Walnut together to build games of quality on modern platforms, highlighting the importance of gameplay, style, and music.
