Next Generation Crimp Monitor Technology Approved By Delphi MEC

London, ON – Oct. 27, 2008
Over the last several weeks, OES Inc has received Equipment Release Notifications from Delphi Manufacturing Excellence Center (European Operations) for their new generation of crimp monitoring technology; specifically the CFM4100, CFM4200 and most recently the CFM2100 crimp force monitors. The newly introduced models have all received approval for use within Delphi manufacturing operations.

“We are very pleased to receive this recognition of our newest crimp monitoring technology as an approved product for use in Delphi manufacturing applications.” says Mike Reeve, VP of Strategic Sales & Business Development at OES. “This new generation technology is a significant advancement in process variation monitoring for wire processing, and is a key product line for OES. It is important to have met the stringent requirements for sensitivity, operational capability, and ease of use expected by Delphi.”

A key challenge in the wire processing industry today is processing of small gauge and specialty conductor wire as the vehicle manufacturers increase the number of electrical features within the automobile while pursuing automobile weight reduction strategies. Coupled with the highly sensitive OES PBT Sensor technology, Reeve further reports that the new generation monitoring technology with its increased computing power and faster signal processing for detailed analysis of crimp signatures radically enhances monitoring capability on small gauge wire applications. The new monitors also offer advanced connectivity with both Ethernet and USB ports, enhanced user friendliness with a graphics based interface environment and support of a wide range of languages, including Chinese.

Recipient of the 2008 Delphi Technology Pinnacle Award for Supplier Excellence, OES Inc. develops and deploys innovative and effective “in-process test and monitoring” solutions for a wide range of applications, including wire crimping, tube end-forming, crimp forming, riveting, and other pressing and forming applications.
