Program Overview
O-AMP is a government initiative aimed at helping small and medium sized automotive parts suppliers in Ontario modernize their operations to remain competitive and responsive to industry changes.
Funding Details
- Maximum Funding: Up to $150,000
- Cost Share: Covers up to 50% of eligible project costs
- Applicant Contribution: Remaining 50% must be covered by the business through internal resources or financing
Eligibility Criteria
- Ontario-based, for-profit automotive parts suppliers;
- Fewer than 500 employees in Ontario;
- Less than $1 billion in global revenues;
- At least two consecutive years of reviewed financial statements (audited or review engagement);
- New for this round: Only 30% of total sales revenue must come from the automotive sector (previously 50%); and
- Must have a manufacturing location in Ontario by project start
Eligible Projects
Projects must fall into one or more of the following categories:
- Technology adoption for process efficiency (e.g., ERP systems, production tracking)
- Tools for new product development (e.g., CAD/CAM, rapid prototyping)
- Lean manufacturing improvements (e.g., hiring consultants, implementing lean practices)
Projects must also be achievable, align with O-AMP goals (e.g., job creation, cost savings), and contribute to sector development.
