Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) Round 7 Application Opens on March 4

Ontario’s Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) provides funding support to help small- and medium-sized automotive parts suppliers strengthen competitiveness and modernize operations. The intake opens March 4, 2026, with a submission deadline of April 16, 2026.

Eligible companies may receive up to $150,000, covering as much as 50 per cent of total eligible project costs, to support investments in advanced manufacturing technologies, new product development tools and lean manufacturing initiatives. The program aims to modernize Ontario’s automotive supply chain, enhance productivity and support job creation and revenue growth across the sector.

To qualify, applicants must be for-profit Ontario-based automotive supply chain businesses (with a business number) with fewer than 500 Ontario employees and less than $1 billion in global revenues. Companies must generate at least 30 per cent of total sales from the automotive sector and have an Ontario manufacturing location in place by the start of the project. Firms supporting electric vehicle and EV battery technologies are eligible; aftermarket parts businesses are not.

Projects must align with program goals, demonstrate financial viability and contribute to sector development. Funding cannot be stacked with other provincial programs, and combined federal and O-AMP funding cannot exceed 50 per cent of total project costs.

Applications must be submitted through the Province’s online Transfer Payment Ontario (TPON) system. Interested businesses are encouraged to review the O-AMP Applicant Guide and prepare required documentation in advance of the deadline.
