The Opening of London Electronics Waste Recycling Facility to the Public

If your household is like most households you probably have several obsolete electronic products stored in your basement, closets or attic. Like most people you want to do the right thing and not throw them out, but you couldn't figure out what to do with them. Well, time to do the right thing! Bring your obsolete electronic waste to Advanced Materials Recovery’s Electronics Recycling Day and ensure that your electronic waste is properly recycled in an environmentally responsible and secure manner.

This event is being hosted by Advanced Materials Recycling (AMR), and will take place on Saturday January 23rd, 2010 at 38 Adelaide Street North Unit 2, in the parking lot from 9:00 am to 4:30.

All London residents can bring their worn out electronics to the facility and give a donation of money, food or canned goods to the London and Area Food Bank.

The facility WILL accept

  • All IT equipment including micro, mini, laptop computers, server racks, routers etc
  • Printers and business equipment including fax machines, copiers
  • Data devices including hard drives
  • Electronic circuit boards
  • Telecommunications equipment including cell phones and PDAs
  • Audiovisual equipment
  • Consumer electronics including digital cameras and toys
  • Monitors and Television sets
  • Medical equipment
  • Rechargeable Batteries
  • Wires and cables

The facility CANNOT accept ...

  • Small appliances including microwaves, vacuum cleaners, toaster ovens etc.
  • White goods
  • Air conditioners
  • Power tools

Larger collections of electronic items from ICI customers will also be accepted with prior notification.
