A success story, paw-sitively!

When Michelle and Jaymie Crook operated Country Paws, a deluxe dog boarding resort, they noticed their guests were particularly fond of the treats they were served. The in-house menu became so popular with family members and their four-legged friends that the Crooks decided to venture into developing gourmet dog treats under the name Bosco & Roxy’s.

“You won’t believe your eyes when you see the detail that has gone into creating these spoils for pampered pooches,” Michelle said. “We have multiple collections to choose from including one that is wheat free.”

The Crooks use human-grade ingredients to make frozen treats and hand-decorated cookies in their 10,000 square foot facility located in London’s Forest City Industrial Park. The jaw-watering delicacies are sold all over North America and in several other countries at stores including Loblaws, Sobey’s, PetSmart, Pet Value and Global Pet Foods.

“Business has been amazing as pet retailers appear to appreciate Canadian-made dog treats,” Jaymie said. “There’s nothing in the market that looks like our products.”

The treats — hand cut, baked and decorated cookies and frozen treats —are listed on the company’s website and offer new options and collections regularly. Bosco & Roxy’s was recently awarded the Featured Company by the London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) and the City of London. The award recognizes London companies making a difference in the business landscape and raising the city’s profile while making a positive impact on the community.
“As an entrepreneur you put your head down and work to achieve your goals. It is really appreciated when the community and its leaders notice our efforts,” Michelle said. “It is really great to be recognized in this way.”

Bosco & Roxy’s employs 53 Londoners all of whom are passionate about producing premium treats for an international cliental.
“Our talented employees apply their abilities every day to make the business a success,” Michelle said.  “It really makes us hometown proud!”
