Transform Automotive L.L.C. invests more than $15 million in London, Ontario

STERLING HEIGHTS, Michigan (December 15, 2003) – Sterling Heights, Michigan based TransForm Automotive will invest $15 million USD to construct its first Canadian automotive manufacturing plant. The facility will be located on 10.6 acres in the Forest City Industrial Park, London, Ontario, and will manufacture transmission components for the global automotive industry.

The initial TransForm Automotive London, Ontario facility will be approximately 65,000 square feet and employ 150 associates with production scheduled to commence in the spring of 2005. The land acquisition was designed to allow for future expansion up to 200,000 square feet and the ability to house an estimated 450 employees. Established in 1997 and recognized as Advanced Metal-Forming Specialists, TransForm is looking ahead with excitement to continued growth and prosperity.

London was selected as a result of its geographic location, the highly educated workforce, and the proper existing infrastructure to support the company’s needs. “We are grateful to have worked with the staff from The London Economic Development Corporation,” states Ted Ens, President of TransForm Automotive. “Their support, guidance and assistance contributed significantly to our decision to invest in the London location and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.”

The London Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), the City of London, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade have been pleased to work with TransForm Automotive for over one year. “We are delighted that TransForm Automotive has chosen London, Ontario for its first Canadian manufacturing facility, and will be contributing to the growing automotive parts industry in our community”, said John Kime, President and CEO of the LEDC. “ We look forward to continuing our work with this company to ensure that its expectations of our community are realized.”

“We are very pleased to welcome TransForm Automotive to London and are confident the new company will thrive in our community,” said Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco. “This significant investment reinforces the value of our industrial land development strategy in successfully attracting new enterprises and creating new jobs for our community.”

TransForm Automotive is a Tier One and Tier Two supplier in the automotive marketplace.
