London International Airport and WestJet Airlines announced today the launch of new daily direct jet service from London to Halifax and Vancouver commencing May 11th, 2009 and running through to the end of October. All flights will operate with WestJet’s Boeing 737 jet aircraft.
This new daily coast to coast service is the number one request from our customers and we are pleased to provide this Direct Trans Canada service.
“This new service will provide two additional non-stop jet routes from London with connection opportunities in both Halifax and Vancouver” said Steve Baker, President, London International Airport. “We are thrilled that WestJet continues to expand their service from London and we encourage travellers to support this new service and help us expand the destinations from London”. WestJet currently offers direct jet service to Calgary, Winnipeg and Orlando from London with connections throughout their system to destinations in North America and the Caribbean.
WestJet started service in London in 2002 with one daily flight and with the addition of Vancouver and Halifax the number has grown to five flights daily. “As we have added new direct flights from London we have seen our catchment area in Southwestern Ontario continue to expand” said Baker. “Passengers from all of Southwestern Ontario appreciate the ease and convenience of London International Airport and it is that support that we are receiving from our region that will allow us to continue to grow”.
As the transportation centre for SouthWestern Ontario the London International Airport encourages passengers to use this new service and help our region’s airport continue to grow.
