What's Your Flight Plan?

With over 60 years of experience in the contact centre industry and 2,000 staff members across four countries and eight offices worldwide, Bill Gosling Outsourcing is helping brands go further. The company is growing their London presence and is currently looking for talent to join their flock.

Bill Gosling Outsourcing assists their clients with a wide array of services, including customer acquisitions, sales, care, and support, accounts receivable management, business process outsourcing, and develops new communications technologies.

“We’re not your typical call centre,” says Lawrence Vera, Manager of Recruitment at Bill Gosling Outsourcing for the Newmarket office.

“We’ve invested in work stations that are open concept, allowing for greater collaboration with team members, a games room to relax with colleagues in, as well as a focus on participation in charity and community events. This year we also launched TakeFlight, an internal rewards and recognition program where employees get to recognize each other and get to cash in points for prizes or experiences.”

It’s investments like this and recent expansions, especially at their London office located in Citi Plaza on Wellington Road, that Vera says demonstrates the company’s ability to do things differently. The London office is currently the second largest office globally, which is expanding and adding more jobs to the community.

Join the Flock
Bill Gosling Outsourcing is primarily hiring customer service representatives at its London office, however their growth will see new opportunities in the near future for management and support roles within the Information Technology and Human Resources departments. All of the roles across departments at Bill Gosling Outsourcing also have the ability to grow and evolve, says Vera:

“Many of our employees are tenured, and our senior leaders have worked their way up through the company as we strongly believe in giving employees growth opportunities. In fact, our President started in our UK office as an agent. We’ve introduced a global training program called L.E.A.P. (Lead, Engage, Achieve, People) where staff from all of our global offices collaborate to gain skills that further their careers.”

The company has a diverse workforce across offices, with a range of backgrounds, ages, and tenure that have created a collaborative employee culture. Bill Gosling Outsourcing is a place where students can enjoy flexible hours while studying and make their job a career upon graduation, and where people can start out in sales and excel into other areas with training to support their development.

“A nice thing about our client base is that we have such a wide array of shifts available that we can accommodate so many different employee’s lifestyles,” says Vera. “ We have full-time and part-time positions, we have sales, customer care, and roadside assistance roles, and we operate 24/7. This flexibility allows us to attract people of all ages and backgrounds.”

From Gosling to Goose
A brief history about Bill Gosling Outsourcing

Founded in 1955 in Toronto, Ontario by John Rae, originally operating as Allied International Credit (AIC), the company started out focusing solely on accounts receivable management. After decades of growth and switching hands but keeping the same family mentality, the company expanded into the customer sales and care space in order to offer a more holistic customer communications platform.

After experiencing so much rapid growth, the company felt it was time to invest in a name and brand that better embodied where they were heading. The company changed its name to Bill Gosling Outsourcing to better reflect their values and stand out amongst competitors. In over 60 years of business, the company cites their staff had been the driving force, and their culture reflected their progress and future. Recognizing that their employees are the ‘wings that let the company fly’, the name Bill Gosling Outsourcing arose from one of the principles in Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles book Gung Ho!, called ‘The Gift of the Goose,’ which encourages people to celebrate and compliment each other on an ongoing basis rather than solely for big wins. It’s this mentality - cheering each other on to achieve a common goal - that now embodies the work culture at Bill Gosling Outsourcing.
