With much fanfare, the grand opening was held recently for Weken Toys and Weken Electronics, a massive tax-free toy and electronics superstore located in Ohsweken, Ontario, approximately one hour from London. The marketing firm responsible for the store's exceptional success is London's own ZOO Media Group. Over a very short six week period, ZOO was able organize an integrated promotional campaign which included media buying, public relations, creating a new mascot, designing and writing all of their collateral including flyers, gift cards, posters, and invitations, as well as designing and programming two websites. The grand opening also involved organizing a private gala event with the help of London's own Elegant Catering owned by Chef Joan Brennan and Clear Concept Events owned by Holly Doty and Maija Craig. "For the grand opening, the long line of customers stretched past the store's front doors and around the parking lot. It was really exciting for everyone to see, especially the owners."? Sales from the two day grand opening event doubled the initial forecast.
The media blitz involved getting the word out to cities including Hamilton, Woodstock, Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, Guelph, Brantford and Norfolk. ZOO is also planning to market this amazing new store to London and surrounding areas in the next 2 weeks. Bus tours from London are in the works to allow everyone to take advantage of all the tax free savings just in time for Christmas.
Danielle Greenfield, Owner and General Manager of Weken Toys and Electronics found ZOO Media Group through the web while searching for some marketing expertise. Under very tight timelines, ZOO was able to design a brand image that Weken is thrilled with and has proven to be very popular with their customers. Their two websites were launch on September 4th and have received over 13,500 unique visitors.
