Downtown London is the catalyst and connector for a shared community vision of London’s downtown, on behalf of members, in partnership with the City of London and in support of major economic development, cultural, educational, and private sector stakeholders.

Our mission is to steward the levy paid by member businesses by leading and championing programs and investments that make London’s downtown a destination of choice and an economic centre that supports the entire community.

This London 2030 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) study began in the fall of 2009 with the mandate of updating the 2004 TMP. Following the 2004 study, the London Transit Commission (LTC) completed a Transit Ridership Growth Strategy in 2006 which recommended implementation of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) strategy to achieve the mode share targets of the 2004 TMP. The City of London (the City) also completed their first Bicycle Master Plan in 2007, which contained a number of recommendations to enhance cycling facilities throughout the City.

The primary scope of this TMP update was to build upon the recommendations from these recent studies, incorporate the most recent strategic planning objectives of City Council and assess the viability of implementing a rapid transit system for the City.

Our Core Area represents the heart of our city. It holds our greatest concentration of employment, many of our heritage properties, our largest community gathering places, our primary stage for music and entertainment, and the majority of our tourism infrastructure. The health, vitality and resiliency of the Core Area is key to any successful economic development strategy for London and sends an important message to the world about London as a place to live and do business.
